My favorite pieces by Agustin Barrios Mangore

This is a personal list that only reflects my tastes. Don't consider this as a "the best of" list. You will find some pieces that aren't very famous and the staples of the classical guitar repertoire missing.

Without a particular order:

1. Mazurka Appasionata

A very personal piece. It produces beautiful emotions on me. Also a very challenging one. It has some of the longest stretches I've seen.

2. Leyenda de España

I don't understand why this marvelous piece isn't played more often.

3. Dinora

It looks like an insignificant piece but it is nevertheless one of my favorites.

4. Prelude in G minor

This is like hearing a composition by Bach for guitar (he didn't compose for this instrument).

What a masterpiece! These six variations on a theme shows the true level of the composer: genius.
